About me:
Behind this webshop you'll find me, Stine Vang Guld. I'm an educated art historian who spends much of my time researching, disseminating and experimenting with artistic phenomena. Within the last few years, I have had a particularly passion for making linoleum prints.
Inspiration:
I am particularly fascinated by the idiom of visual art and I'm, among other things, inspired by some of the great masters of modernism such as Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and Paul Gauguin. It may also be apparent that I have been inspired by other linoleum printers such as the Danish artists Henry Heerup and Dea Trier Mørch.
However, my prints are 100% original and I greatly appreciate the rustic and raw quality, which differs slightly from print to print.
Technique:
Linoleum printing (also called linoleum cuts), is the term for a graphic printing technique. The pressure is made on a linoleum plate in which the subject or the surrounding space is cut off with a knife. If you would like to follow the process, you can follow me on instagram under the name @ikonofilia.
Materials:
To make the prints, I use my bare hands and an old rolling pin. The plates are made of brown linoleum with a thickness of 3.2 mm. The prints are made individually with water-based ink on white organic 120 grs. paper.
